IN THE SPOTLIGHT... Profile 8: Ben McGlynn
Tuesday, 1 June 2004

18-year-old Ben McGlynn is warming to the challenge of stepping straight out of the TAC cup into the Box Hill Hawks senior side. The former Bendigo Pioneer U/18 came to Melbourne to do a pre-season with the Hawks and eventually won a spot on the list and has managed six games in the Hawks seniors. He explained how much of a standard rise it is from the TAC to the VFL. “It’s a big step, its so much quicker than the TAC cup, it’s a good challenge”, McGlynn said. The hard at the ball little man said he has been semi satisfied with his form but has some improving to do. “I’ve been playing back pocket and forward pocket, last year I was a bit of a goal kicker but this year I haven’t really kicked any, hopefully that will change”.
