WEEKEND CONFERENCE SETS HAWKS’ SIGHTS ON 2010
Thursday, 11 February 2010

Members of the Box Hill Hawks administration, football and coaching staff recently spent the weekend in the historic Gippsland gold-mining town of Walhalla where detailed plans were laid for the Club’s season 2010 campaign.

walhallamain_l.jpgThe conference was held at Walhalla’s Star Hotel; with sessions devoted to topics such as establishing the Club’s culture and mission statement, match day responsibilities and accountabilities and coaching philosophies.

Interspersed between the formal sessions; in turn each of the 12 attendees played to the group a song of personal importance to them and explained it’s significance in relation to their life’s journey.

A walk to the Walhalla cricket ground – located on top of a nearby hill as there is no flat ground in the town – presented an early morning challenge for some on the Sunday before breakfast.

Not only was the conference a valuable learning experience; it gave old and new members of the Club’s off-field team the opportunity to get to know each much other better in a social environment away from the Club.
