It’s the culmination of countless hours spent on the paddock, in team meetings and travelling to and from training, but once you earn the right to play in September it begins to seem more and more like time well spent.
The Box Hill Hawks Football Club is deeply saddened by the recent passing of former player Steve Westmoreland at the age of 55. “Westy” was a member of the Box Hill 1976 champion undefeated Thirds Premiership team and was the team’s leading goalkicker with 59 goals for the season, including 5 in the grand final. He was a BHFC senior player in 1977 and 1978 for a total of 17 senior games.

All at the Club extend their sincere sympathy to Steve’s family.
Hawks conquer Blues in
129-point win

The sun peeked out from the clouds for the Hawks’ final match of the home and away season and it didn’t feel much like winter anymore as they were on fire and burnt the Northern Blues, 26.15 (171) to 6.6 (42).
Hawks clinch second
with triple figure win

Box Hill clinched second spot in the AFL Victoria Development League on Saturday, with an emphatic 119-point victory over the Northern Blues at Box Hill City Oval. The win earns the Hawks the double chance and sets up a tantalising qualifying final against Williamstown next week, with a place in the preliminary finals on the line.
Box Hill Hawks vs
Northern Blues Preview

The Development are more familiar with this week’s opponents than the seniors having played the Northern Blues at Preston City Oval in Round 13. The Hawks recorded a 95 point victory that day thanks the accuracy of AFL Vic Development side leading goal kicker Peter McEvoy who slotted through 4 goals on his way to a best on ground performance.
